Ease of Use
The most important factor with any piece of technologically based equipment is it's accessibility to the user. For this reason they ReadEasy has been designed from the ground upwards with ease-of-use in mine. We are confident that any user will quickly learn how to operate ReadEasy with the aid of only one button - the help button. No matter what the user may be doing with read easy, they can press the help button at any time to be given an explanation of the functions of relevant button presses at that time. The ReadEasy is also intelligent enough to recognize an incorrect orientated document and will automatically rotate it once it has been scanned.
ReadEasy is also the only reading machine to adopt a simple to use keypad, meaning you do not have to be hunched over the machine whilst operating it. Instead, you can sit back, relax and control the speaking of your documents.
Accuracy
Being able to easily operate the ReadEasy is all well and good, but if the text on the scanned document cannot be accurately recognized, it cannot be spoken accurately to the user, therefore rendering it useless! that is why ReadEasy uses the latest optical character recognition (OCR) engine that is recognized as being one of the most accurate available. Documents with a very small font sizes, pictures, lists, columns and incorrectly orientated documents can all be scanned with superb accuracy.
Versatility
ReadEasy can perform a wide range of useful functions that conventional reading machines cannot:
Multi page documents
Single documents with more than one page can easily be created. Once the first page has been scanned, the following pages can be scanned in the background whilst the first page is being read out aloud. This allows you to read continuously with no irritating pauses between pages!
Saving and Loading off Documents
The ReadEasy has an intuitive file management system to allow saving and loading of documents. When a document is saved, a sound file is recorded with the document using the built in microphone that allows a user to identify it. When loading a file, the user cycles through a list of the saved files and as they do, the sound file that has been recorded for that file is played back allowing it to be identified.
NEW! ReadEasy now supports exporting to MP3 Players
Uses can now very simply plug in a USB MP3 player and choose to save their documents directly to their player in MP3 format so you can carry them with you anywhere!
Large book handling
The ended of the scanner is "double hinged" allowing thick books to be easily insisted without damage.
Speed
One might think that with such accuracy, there would have to be a trade-off in terms of the scanning speed. This is not the case with ReadEasy!
Using specially selected components, the ReadEasy is the fastest performing reading machine available by over two times and is also whisper quiet in operation.
Less than a minute from being turned on, ReadEasy is ready to scan the first page. A standard letter type document then takes only 18 seconds before it is being read out to you. Complicated newspaper documents with many columns and photographs take only 30 seconds!
Quality of Speech
The ReadEasy uses the latest AT&T Natural voices for the highest quality speech available with superb intonation.
Every ReadEasy comes with four extremely high quality 16khz voices. They are:
- Audrey - British English Female Voice
- Charles - British English Male Voice
- Crystal - American English Female Voice
- Mike - American English Male Voice

Despite its huge range of features, the ReadEasy is the best value reading machine currently on the market. The keypad version is less expensive than any other comparable reading machine available.
Languages
Most European languages are available at an additional cost of £80 per language. This includes an additional high quality voice for that language and the menus translated for that language also. There is no limit to the number of languages that can be installed.
